Service Description: Provides services to people with developmental challenges, with their families, to achieve their unique personal goals.

Services include:
  • Almost Home Respite House - A place for children with special needs and adults with intellectual challenges to stay when their families need a rest from providing care.
  • Building Bridges - Helps young people (17.5 to 21 years of age) with an intellectual challenge to plan for the transition from high school to life in their community after graduation.
  • Community Connections - A directory of screened workers who provide family respite.
  • Day Nurseries Resource Funding Program - Provides funding to childcare centres so that they can hire additional staff to support children with special needs in their programs.
  • Early Childhood Resource Program- Assists children 2.6 to 12 years of age who have identified delays in development.
  • Early Learning Quality Initiative - Promotes professional development and high quality in early learning programs within the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton.
  • Family Supports - Helps the families of children and young people (aged 12 to 18 years) with intellectual challenges.
  • Foundations - Helps young people (aged 21 to 28 years) with the change from going high school to living on their own.
  • Home Share - Offers an alternative to the adults we support who find it difficult or lonely to live on their own.
  • Independent Living - Helps people with intellectual challenges to live and work in the community.
  • Job Quest - Helps people who have a disability or other impairment to find and keep a good job while assisting employers to find, train and keep reliable and skilled workers.
  • Jobs’R'Us - A small business offering a variety of products and services in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Our primary business is wine bottle collection.
  • Residential Services - Residents live together in apartments or group homes and are assisted by staff members from Community Living Kawartha Lakes.
  • Community Crossing - Our purchase of services Day Program that offers a supportive environment for people of all skills and abilities to participate in a meaningful day time activity program.
