This program combines the "art" and "science" of Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) for nurses (RN, RPN, and NP). The program embeds best practice standards and aligns with the Model to Guide
This program combines the "art" and "science" of Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) for nurses (RN, RPN, and NP). The program embeds best practice standards and aligns with the Model to Guide Hospice Palliative Care, focussing on the development and role of the nurse as a HPC resource for the inter-disciplinary team in long-term care homes, agencies, hospitals and communities * course runs 20 weeks.
The components of the program include:

  • self- directed reading and reflection,
  • e-learning modules
  • in-person sessions (case based learning)
  • peer to peer exchanges (learning debrief)
  • practical application assignments
  • individual or small group coaching sessions


CAPCE Selection Criteria:
  • participants must have a minimum of 1 year hospice palliative care nursing experience
  • have access to an internet-enabled computer
  • have knowledge of basic computer programs
  • have completed the Fundamentals Core and Enhanced Hospice Palliative Care Programs.
