- when amount claimed is more than $50,000, the matter goes to Superior Court

$108 to file claim for infrequent claimants (less than 10 claims per calendar year); for other fees, consult website; fees subject to change

Application:

To start a claim, fill out the Plaintiff's Claim form (found online) and file it online, in person, or by mail at the courthouse in the town or city where defendant resides or carries on business, or where cause of action arose; in Toronto, any documents filed online regarding small claims must be filed through Ontario Courts Public Portal
