Service Description:
|
A non-profit, charitable organization comprised of staff working with Police and community agencies to provide coordinated and immediate assistance to victims and survivors of crime, trauma and tragic circumstance or disaster.
Assistance with contacting and connecting victims with other services for additional counselling, financial assistance, housing, compensation, and medical or legal services as appropriate * Works in partnership with Police and Emergency Services offering free confidential victim services:
- To lessen the trauma of victimization
- To help victims cope with the impact of crime and or tragedy
- To assist and encourage the victim to connect with appropriate community services
- To give the community the opportunity to become more involved in dealing with the effects of crime and in mobilizing crime prevention in their area
- To enable police/emergency services to be available sooner for a safer community
- Victim support, practical assistance, referral information, resources available.
